Defense contract awards for Hampton Roads in March included a $95 million multiple-award deal for Navy ship repair services that named 13 companies in the region.
Other highlights of the month included additional money for work on the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford and a Hampton firm that is working on behalf of the Marine Corps.
The $95 million Navy contract covers a wide range of repair services for ships at Military Sealift Command. An indefinite number of individual awards will be issued under the contract. Named are the following companies:
— Norfolk: Lyon Shipyard Inc., Colonna’s Ship Yard Inc., Auxiliary Systems Inc., East Coast Repair and Fabrication LLC, and Walashek Industrial and Marine Inc.
— Portsmouth: Atlantic Fabrication and Boiler Services Inc., G.I. Industrial — Marine LLC and Epsilon Systems Solutions Inc.
— Chesapeake: Tecnico Corp., Mid-Atlantic Engineering Technical Services Inc. and LPI Technical Services
— Newport News: Fairlead Boatworks Inc., Newport News
— Virginia Beach: Q.E.D. Systems Inc.
Four companies outside of Virginia also made the list. They are from New Jersey, Kansas, New York and Pennsylvania.
